J, you began your home preschool program with mom this week. Our friend, Melissa started the program with her son and highly recommended it. Then we saw pictures on their blog and we were sold. Plus, since you are not in school right now and it's summer, I thought it would be something fun and educational for you and me to do together. The projects are very interesting and fun. You seemed to be very engaged and surprised/impressed me with your skills. So, here are some pictures of your work so far. So proud of you J! You are so smart! And, I love spending this time with you.

You paid attention! You followed instructions! You completed the projects. A job well done!

Look at this smart kid. Here you are in front of the wall we are using as our classroom. I look at you and think, where did the last 3 years go? How did you get so big, it's going too fast. But, you are so beautiful. And, I want to give you everything, every opportunity and feed your brain right now. So, that's why we're doing this. I hope you look back on these days and pictures with fond memories. I know I will.

After we were done, you had to go wash your hands since we had used some glue. Mr. Independent! And, Mr. Clean, just like Dad.

Thank you to The Smith Family, who got us started with our first box/month of projects. We will keep you posted on our activities and progress.

Couldn't forget our girl. She graciously took a long nap, so we could get started on our preschool program. Later, She enjoyed some tasty cheesy treats.

Summer!

SUMMER
IS
HERE!

Come on in J, the pool is open
Hey Girl, just floatin' along
Discovering chocolate Yoohoo for the 1st time...YUMMO!
Um, if she doesn't finish hers, can I have it?

Trying to let her hair grow, but had to trim the bangs
Every morning, J stands in the pantry and says, "Mom, I'm hungry".
S is trying her hardest to get this walking thing down. But, in the meantime, she discovered how fun it is to carry around J's Handy Manny tool box. It also plays the Handy Manny theme song, which she dances to.

After J eats, he pulls up his shirt and says, "Mom, look my pansa is full".
Still holding the tool box...too cute!

Happy Summer Everyone!

What a nice weekend...

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY! I hope you all had a very restful and safe weekend.

Our weekend was pretty low key. We did go on a quick road trip to Deming, NM to visit  Coco Sue's Mom. On our way there we made several stops for the kids. And, we went thru Silver City, NM. Which I liked a lot. We ran into a blues festival there and hung out for a while.
Although, it's not officially summer for a few more weeks...the HEAT did arrive in Albuquerque. We were in the 90's here. So, we decided to get a little pool so J & S could cool off. They had a blast!
Even though it was super HOT, J was so cold when he got out, so he was warming up in the sun.
And here's Ms. S doing her latest trick. She thinks it's super fun to climb out of her hi-chair. Yea, until she falls...which I hope NEVER happens. I immediately take her out of there and she screams and cries and get so mad. Oh but she's so cute....
Here's J & S coloring. S thinks she is really coloring. With Pa's help, of course. J is getting good...staying in the lines more and making pictures for everyone. I think Dad has a whole wall of art work at his office. What a proud Daddy!

It was a good weekend. That extra day always helps. We spent time w/ our family and friends. What more can we ask for. On Monday, we went to a bbq w/ some friends. It was nice, they were so hospitable and there were lots of kids, so J &S had a blast! So, now it's back to reality...ooops, I mean LIVING THE DREAM! Have a good week.

Backyard Camp out

Hope you all had a nice and relaxing weekend. We needed some good ole rest & relaxation, actually I should say Deon really needed it.
So, instead of packing up 2 kids and all the camping gear to go w/ it, we just decided to camp in the backyard (or back-a-lard as J says it). We had a great time! We had a picnic. Although, S thought it was more fun to crawl and stand in the food. Then we laid in the sun to get some much needed rays. Would have liked to take a nice nap out there, but you know kids, they had other ideas. But, nonetheless, it was a great day!

Hey Mom, this is fun!

Enjoying a picnic in the tent, that is, until Ms. Thing decided to step in and crawl all over our food. How cute S

S wasn't sure about this whole tent thing, at first...but she loved it. Esp, when she had the tent all to herself.

J & Dad had a super water gun fight...um, I think J won!

And, the perfect ending to a great day...The ICE-CREAM lady came by. This is the most delicious Shrek ice-cream I've ever had!

calling all Moms

My son, he is so wonderful...a precious child from God. I love so much about him; he's smart, loving, funny, full of questions and answers, loves me so much...BUT kid you're killing me. Lately, he has changed into this crazy, talk back, argue, yell, crying & whining, difficult child. I hate it! And, I only know it's going to get worse as he gets older. I hate having to discipline; take things away, not let him do things, yell, spank, argue. I need help, tips, suggestions, or just tell me you have had the same troubles. He's 3 (will be 4 in Sept) and I just want to know one thing: "will this get better, will it subside when he turns 18 or is this just a part of being a Mom to a boy?" We also took him out of preschool last month because we weren't happy w/ the program he was in. But, not I'm thinking, the social interaction was really good for him. He'll hopefully be going to a new school in the fall...but until then, he's all mine. :)

My daughter, on the other hand is a doll. I mean don't get me wrong...she has her moments too...but she's gettin' fiesty, attitude, and throws herself, face down, on the floor when she doesn't get her way. Oh, and her new thing...is this screechy scream to get my attention. Like, as a matter of fact, right now...so, I have to wrap up this posting and say Goodbye all.

Please let me make it clear, I love love love these kids, wouldn't trade them in for anything or this life...but  kids...CHILL OUT! Counting my blessings!

Have a great weekend!

Just keepin' busy...

Sophie is a climber...she climbs onto everything and thinks it's the funniest thing. She's starting to figure out how to climb down. But, until then...I got your back Sophie. The girly attitude is crazy...she's only 1...can you imagine?

We painted Jake's room this weekend, or should I say...Deon painted. And, he did a great job! It looks so good in there. I was so inspired that I told Deon, "let's paint all the rooms now". He looked at me like I was crazy.

Sophie likes her big brothers room too. Yep, she learned how to climb on his bed too. Isn't that cute?

Jake likes his room too. As you can see from his posed pictures.

That's it for now. Until next time...have a great day!

Oh no he didn't...

Ok, so my son's latest thing...TALKING BACK! Are you kidding me...he's only 3...and it's already starting? I hate it! I hate having to discipline and spank and time out and take things away...But, I will absolutely NOT have my son talk to me, his Dad or anyone that way. Kids...Parenthood...Wow! He's telling his Grandma a story today, and we're both paying attention...and he turns to me and says, "um, Mom...I'm not talking to you". Hold me back kid. I was speechless. It kinda hurt my feelings too. I took him into the other room, got down on his level and told him he could not speak to me that way. He told me he was sorry and we hugged and said, "I love you".
