Life's a Beach

ROAD TRIP to California. We decided kinda last minute to go, because we realized this was it. Jake & Sophie start school July 25th. So, the kids, myself and Aunt Mary headed out. The kids were busy, we saw a lot of our family. We went to the beach, spent time with cousins, took a break from the AZ heat and relaxed at Nana Pat & Bob's house.

Jake could have stayed at the beach all day long
It was a little cold...but the girl loves her sand

Our names in the sand...

And Sophie too

Alec helped Jake build sand castles and a giant hole in the sand

A day at the beach

Fireworks!

Our 4th of July was pretty low key. Sophie was sick with the flu so we didn't do much. But, Dad made sure to have our very own firework show in the street. We also had a cool down that day...so it was nice to be outside.

Sophie was scared, at first...so Jake thought if he covered her eyes she'd feel better...yea, not so much

She was scared

Not Jake, He was loving it

Always gotta have sparklers

Sophie finally relaxed. They ate their popcorn while Dad continued the show

Family Time!

Nana Pat, Alec and Maya came to visit! They were originally coming to help us move, but things changed. By the time they got here, we were pretty much all moved in. Which worked out better because we got to hang out and have some fun together. We enjoyed their company. Jake & Maya got along great! And, it's always nice to have my Mom around.
A Haboob came thru town while they were here.  The winds split this tree and the kids were amazed by it so we had to take a picture by it
Had to take them to San Tan Flat
We went to the Arizona Science Center
Jake & Maya were two peas in a pod
We laughed at this picture, Sophie's crazy eyes

The kids loved this gigantic telescope!

Posing with their rock candy lollipops...gotta love our kids...they love to pose

Jake was sad to see her go...

There's no place like home

We FINALLY moved into our new home! It was a lot of work. But, we're almost done unpacking all the boxes and getting settled. There's nothing like having a brand new home. Clean, new, and a fresh start!  We hired movers because it's so much work and it's too hot! The day we moved it was 111 degrees outside. I felt for the guys, but somebody's gotta do it. As for Jake, he was working and helping out all day.

Our new backyard is not landscaped yet...so Jake was doing some digging

The landscapers were working on the front yard and here's Jake...pitching in

The kids have been keeping busy at summer camp. They made these snap braclets. Sophie liked that she could look thru it. Not very smart Teacher, ink everywhere

My precious girl. She's so curious and smart and funny.

Jake got him some new boots WITH spurs! Cutest little cowboy I know

Sophie showing off her new tennis shoes too

Back to the farm

Jake could go to Schnepf Farms every day. Coco was in town and he wanted to take her there for breakfast and show her around. We got there at 8:30 in the morning and it was already in the 90's. By 9:30 we were ready to leave. But, they got in some playtime before we left and we had a delicious Peach Cinnamon Roll.

The girl could swing all day if you let her
Jake LOVES tractors!

My favorite picture of Jake, so far! My beautiful boy

Splash

In the middle of summer, we are always looking for places to cool off, so we found this splash park and got some relief from the heat for awhile. Jake & Sophie had fun!

Running through the water rings

The water would shoot out of the ground and it would scare them every time.

And Sophie decided to sit on the water that shoots out of the ground...she thought it was funny, the other kids didn't appreciate it so much

Fire Sky

Pa & Coco came to visit for the weekend and we stayed at Fire Sky Resort in Scottsdale. It as very nice...there was an awesome pool for the kids, with a sandy beach area. So, that's where we hung out most of the time.  Lots of fun! Thanks Pa & Coco!
Hi Pa & Sophie
Having fun on this floating alligator, Sophie was trying not to fall off
So sweet...Dad & Sophie taking a nap
Lots of photo opportunities!
