This & That

Still working on our preschool program, Here's Jake with his panda bear mask. This week we're in China. We have a toy store and make different things for it. Jake accumulates money every week and can buy some of the toys, Save his money or Donate. It's a very neat concept. On this particular day, we were working on our project and it was starting to rain outside, and the loudest biggest Thunder hit. It seemed like it was right over our house. Jake jumped into my lap and wrapped himself around me. Sophie was sleeping, and the girl didn't even budge, which is very unusual because she's the lightest sleeper ever. My poor Jake. You were so freaked out.
Another project, today it was a Tiger box. You decided to keep some keys in it. You are so good at all the projects we do. Your scissor cutting skills are getting so much better. Your coloring is so good, you almost stay in the lines now. I'm so proud of you.
I think your teacher at your new school is going to be so proud of you too. You got accepted to HOPE Christian and start school in August. I think I'm more excited than you...I feel like I'm starting school too. : )

All finished with preschool today...now it's truck time...your most favorite thing to do.

A friend of mine, Cara, came to visit her family in Santa Fe. We used to work together in L.A. So, we took a drive up there to see her and her daughter, Liliana. Liliana is 10 months old. She's a doll too. Sophie decided to help herself to the pool. Look at these bathing beauties. And, sharing too, I like it Sophie.

On the way back from Santa Fe, both of you fell asleep in the car. When we brought you inside Jake, you threw a fit...as seen here, you threw yourself on the floor and wouldn't stop crying. Oh, the joys....

Then you followed me upstairs (still crying) and this is where you ended up. You fell asleep here. Dad tried to move you to your bed, but you weren't having it.

And, Ms. Thang...woke up in a bad mood too.
Tried to put your cool glasses on and you were like, "DON'T TAKE MY PICTURE, TAKE THESE THINGS OFF ME!".

Ok, everyone settled down now? It's all good Mom, I'm playing with my trucks. I don't need a nap right now. Yea....right!
And, I'm playing trucks with my Dad...so, I'm fine now.

Our neighbors gave Sophie this cool doll house. But, as you can see Sophie would prefer to play with Jake's toys. I think I'm more excited about the doll house. I'll just have to get her some dolls and furniture for it and then she'll be into it. Especially when she see's me playing with it. : )
Until next time, everyone have a safe weekend. HAPPY 4th of JULY!

Friends, Family & Fun

Summer Fun!

We went to this new water park, actually it's more like a spray park. It was cute. You both had fun. Jake's buddy, Hunington invited us. This little boy in the green, covered the hole where the water shoots out, and Sophie was mad. You kept hitting his leg and grunting. Finally, his mother got the hint and told him to move. It's been in the 90's, so this place was nice and refreshing, perfect for cooling off in the summer heat.

Brother and sister hanging out on the stairs, eating crackers, waiting for Mom & Dad. We were on our way to get Sophie's hair cut. So, this is her 'Before' shot.

SOPHIE'S 1st Haircut
Sophie you got your hair done girl. We just trimmed it all the way around, so hopefully it starts growing now. You were such a good girl, you didn't cry. You just grunted and made some crazy sounds, like get this cape off me. Like this picture below, you weren't crying, just letting us know you didn't like this. And you kept looking at Dad with this look on your face, like Dad, help me here. But with licorice in one hand and a lollipop in the other, you didn't complain too much. I love how your hair looks in the back, a little Bob cut...too cute!

'AFTER' -- So perdy Mama

PARTY TIME
We went to a cousins surprise 40th birthday party. Here's Pa, Jake, Dad  & Sophie hanging out. Look at Jake's cool hat and Ms. Sophie posing for the camera. Dad & I left early to go to see Cheech & Chong at Sandia Casino. It was fun! Those guys are still funny after all these years. We said they had to be in their mid 60's at least. We had a good time.

One more shot of the hairdo! LOVE IT

S keeping up w/ her bro in backyard

So, we're out in the backyard and Miss S is trying to keep up w/ her bro. S, you're barely walking, have no shoes on...but you don't care. Walking on the walks with ease. You are too funny. Look at you here holding a soccer ball. Maybe you'll be a soccer player?
And, J...he just goes about his business, playing and running and jumping all around you.

"GET ME OUT OF THIS CHAIR, I'm ready to go", is pretty much what you were trying to say.

J was piling up rocks, as usual, and there you go trying to help him. Once he'd fill up the bucket he would take it to the top of his slide and dump all the rocks down. He thought it was the most hilarious thing. And, in the next pictures, you'll see how dirty he got in the process. I guess it's a boy thing.

I absolutely love this picture of you S. You discovered the little play house and you loved it. You didn't come out for awhile and then you just sat down and relaxed. Look how you have your hands, you look like a little lady. Precious girl!

Here's the butt shot J! After the rocks slid down, so did you. Arg, what a mess.
Messy Marvin!

Yea, not a very lady like pose there S. But, you were having so much fun. Let's just say after this picture...you and your brother went straight to the bath tub. How many times do I have to say, "S, you can't eat rocks!"

Just some of the things we do, right kids? Thankful for technology and being able to document all of this stuff for J & S. It will be so fun to look back on it all with you both. Plus, I can embarrass you with some of these photos. :) It's all out of love, I PROMISE.

J, you began your home preschool program with mom this week. Our friend, Melissa started the program with her son and highly recommended it. Then we saw pictures on their blog and we were sold. Plus, since you are not in school right now and it's summer, I thought it would be something fun and educational for you and me to do together. The projects are very interesting and fun. You seemed to be very engaged and surprised/impressed me with your skills. So, here are some pictures of your work so far. So proud of you J! You are so smart! And, I love spending this time with you.

You paid attention! You followed instructions! You completed the projects. A job well done!

Look at this smart kid. Here you are in front of the wall we are using as our classroom. I look at you and think, where did the last 3 years go? How did you get so big, it's going too fast. But, you are so beautiful. And, I want to give you everything, every opportunity and feed your brain right now. So, that's why we're doing this. I hope you look back on these days and pictures with fond memories. I know I will.

After we were done, you had to go wash your hands since we had used some glue. Mr. Independent! And, Mr. Clean, just like Dad.

Thank you to The Smith Family, who got us started with our first box/month of projects. We will keep you posted on our activities and progress.

Couldn't forget our girl. She graciously took a long nap, so we could get started on our preschool program. Later, She enjoyed some tasty cheesy treats.

Summer!

SUMMER
IS
HERE!

Come on in J, the pool is open
Hey Girl, just floatin' along
Discovering chocolate Yoohoo for the 1st time...YUMMO!
Um, if she doesn't finish hers, can I have it?

Trying to let her hair grow, but had to trim the bangs
Every morning, J stands in the pantry and says, "Mom, I'm hungry".
S is trying her hardest to get this walking thing down. But, in the meantime, she discovered how fun it is to carry around J's Handy Manny tool box. It also plays the Handy Manny theme song, which she dances to.

After J eats, he pulls up his shirt and says, "Mom, look my pansa is full".
Still holding the tool box...too cute!

Happy Summer Everyone!
