My little stars

I have a fun, tractor loving, John Deere expert, car & truck fanatic,
construction site worker, the hardest working, 5 year old
I've ever met! He has the most beautiful eyes, a sweet smile, he makes me feel so special and I love him. He's 100% boy! That's my Jake
And, I have a little cupcake. She's all girl. Loves her some lipstick, playing dress up, putting on makeup, wearing my high heels, dolls, shopping, she has the most beautiful skin, her hair is so silky with natural high-lights. I love her little legs, feet & toes. I love Sophie.

Jake started soccer. The Golden Eagles. He received the 'Sportsmanship' pin after the first game. Here's Jake & Sophie posing for a pre-game picture.

You want some of this?!

Both of my kids have been a serious HANDFUL lately. Sophie, going thru the terrible two's and so so head strong on top of that. Jake, going thru this super defiant stage, testing and pushing his limits to the max. But, no matter what, no matter how tired we are, no matter how stressed we are...WE LOVE THESE KidS. Deon and I wouldn't change it for anything. The precious things they do outweigh everything. Sophie looks at you and says, "I love you" or gives you a hug or looks at you with this sweet look. It just melts you. Jake tells you a funny story about his day at work or about his friend, Joe. Or, he won't say anything and will just come up and snuggle with us. I mean, it always leads to, "Mom, rub my back or scratch it or rub my head or hold me". Whatever it is...we just have to remember that they are kids, they are normal and our lives would be pretty boring and worthless without them. We just have to be their examples. Set boundaries, create limits, discipline and make sure they grow up to be happy and healthy people. So, for now, we just continue to love them and enjoy the crazy, roller-coaster of a ride.

Say it aint so...my baby is 5

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JAKE! You blessed our lives 5 years ago and have been amazing ever since. You are so special to Dad, Sophie & Me. I love your vibrant imagination. Lately it's your new friend, Joe. The stories you come up with are brilliant. Today you woke up with a cold, so I said you could stay home from [work] school. You thought long and hard about it and said, "no, Mom...I can't miss work because we are starting a new building site today and they are dropping off a huge crane." I said, "can't you call your boss or co-worker and tell them you're sick." You said, "No, I can't, I have to be there." It was absolutely the cutest thing. And, I will always keep that in my memory bank. We had a very Happy Birthday celebration. You woke up to what looked like Christmas morning...lots of presents. You were excited. Then we brought cake and ice-cream to school. Then lunch at Chuck E. Cheese. Fun stuff!
Sophie loves her Daddy
Serious Sophie. Dad took one look at this picture and said he was scared because, "she's so pretty".

My attempt at the John Deere cake again...Jake loved it
We celebrated Jake's birthday at school. He was happy

Back to School Jake!

BACK TO SCHOOL! Jake was up at 6am, asking if it was time to go to school. I hope he's always that enthusiastic about school. He's back to Ms. Peggy's. We missed her...she's an amazing teacher, a genuinely good person with a HUGE heart. And, Jake loves her too. So...I asked Jake to pose for a picture, and you know my kids...
I love the head tilt

My precious baby boy...almost 5 years old.

All the kids had an apple with their name on it.

Jake was working...putting out a BIG fire he said. He set up all fire trucks. It was a total photo op! So, Jake has a new friend...Joe. His imaginary friend, Joe. He tells the best stories about Joe. It's really cute. Joe's from San Francisco. What an imagination...we love it and we love you Jake!

Dad's Company Picnic

I have to start off by telling you some pretty cute things Sophie has been up to. Deon & I started a workout program, P90X about a month ago. We follow these videos and workout in the living room. Sophie calls it sexercising, rather than exercising. She says, "Sexercising Dad?". It's so funny. She's got some attitude and doesn't let Jake mess around and if he does she says, "Stop it Jake"! With this really deep scratchy voice that's bigger than her. She's loving her some Daddy lately...snuggles up to him on the couch. And, when she gets in trouble with Mom she runs to Dad. She loves taking showers now and the girl could stay in there all night. And she'll keep yelling, almost done! She sings, "we will, we will, rock you!" and   Happy Birthday to you. She's talking more and more everyday. Her vocabulary is getting bigger and bigger. She's very smart and very determined. She does things that her brother would have never even thought about. And, she thinks it's hilarious when we tell her No or try and scold her...which is NOT cute at all. When she talks she does this cute thing with her lips to make a point or uses her hands to tell a story. I could just watch her all day...she's so perdy and is the cutest little thing ever. I love Sophie! She's wearing my shoes in the picture above...such a girly girl.

Jake & Sophie getting ready to go to Uncle Cliffs

Sophie & Dad at the water park

Then there's my Jake...what can I say about him, where do I start? He's so amazing, smart, loving, imaginative, creative, my little chocolate boy...I could go on an on about him.  He is such a hard worker, always got something going on. And, the latest...his imaginary friend, Joe. Joe is his boss and sometimes co-worker. He's been coming over for dinner a lot lately. Joe even asked if he could have a beer. Deon asked if Joe was old enough to drink and Jake said, yes...he's 18. Jake is all boy; into sports, construction sites and cars. On the road he calls out cars now; there's a Ford, Honda, Lexus, etc. He's got those big ole eyes with those long long lashes...so handsome. I love my Jake!

Here comes the little fish

She was having a blast in the water...not to mention how hot it was, so nice to cool off

Jake playing Whac-o-mole. He won! And he had to go back to win something for Sophie too. It was cute, he got her a purple bear

Sophie was too cute on the swings...she could have stayed on there all day

Riding the train
It was a great day. We had lots of fun and got to meet some of Dad's co-workers too. Then the clouds came, then rain but most of all WIND. We took cover, ate some delicious BBQ at the Klinger company picnic and went back out for more. I love our little family. We are really blessed.
